Wednesday, Nov 20th: How to Get a Federal Job (In Person)

Modality: In personDescription: Are you interested in a career with the federal government? There are a lot of opportunities in virtually any field of work that you can conceive. The problem – how do you even know where to look and what type of job to pursue? How do you get started and what should you expect?
ACC’s Career Services in conjunction with ACC’s Center for Government and Civic Service are pleased to bring you a two-hour seminar led by a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Federal Civil Service. Bryan Port served 30 years with the Department of Defense and will take students through a series of exercises to help them understand the structure of the federal government, the types of jobs available, and where each student might find careers that interest them. He will then walk participants through the application process including online application platforms, resumes, cover letters, interviews, and security clearances.
