Student Responsibilities Checklist for ApprenticeshipsTo successfully participate in an apprenticeship at Austin Community College (ACC), students are expected to complete the following steps:

  1. Meet with Your Department Chair or Assigned Faculty
    Discuss your interest in an apprenticeship and determine your eligibility.
  2. Prepare and Submit Application Materials
    • Update or create your resume, cover letter, and portfolio (optional).
    • Submit your documents in response to apprenticeship job postings.
  3. Schedule a Career Services Appointment
    If you need assistance preparing your application materials or developing interview skills, schedule an appointment with a Career Services Specialist at least 30 days before the semester begins.

  4. Interview for Apprenticeship Positions
    Prepare for and attend interviews as scheduled by the hiring department or employer.
  5. Complete the Apprenticeship Agreement
    This agreement must be submitted no later than the end of the first week after starting your apprenticeship.
  6. Complete the Student Employer Evaluation
    As a best practice, students should complete the evaluation 1–2 weeks before the end of their apprenticeship experience.
