Student Responsibilities Checklist for ApprenticeshipsTo successfully participate in an apprenticeship at Austin Community College (ACC), students are expected to complete the following steps:
- Meet with Your Department Chair or Assigned Faculty
Discuss your interest in an apprenticeship and determine your eligibility. - Prepare and Submit Application Materials
- Update or create your resume, cover letter, and portfolio (optional).
- Submit your documents in response to apprenticeship job postings.
- Schedule a Career Services Appointment
If you need assistance preparing your application materials or developing interview skills, schedule an appointment with a Career Services Specialist at least 30 days before the semester begins. - Interview for Apprenticeship Positions
Prepare for and attend interviews as scheduled by the hiring department or employer. - Complete the Apprenticeship Agreement
This agreement must be submitted no later than the end of the first week after starting your apprenticeship. - Complete the Student Employer Evaluation
As a best practice, students should complete the evaluation 1–2 weeks before the end of their apprenticeship experience.
*Responsibilities can vary between Apprenticeship Agreements and Employers. Clear expectations will be shared with the Apprentice before starting the Apprenticeship.
